The Generale Ameglio's home in New Britain, Connecticut, features the Joseph Bianca Ballroom and a clubroom with a bar for members to socialize. The association hosts Italian cultural events and has sister-city relationships with the towns of Priolo Gargallo and Solarino, both in the Siracusa province of Sicily. The association is governed by an administration of elected and appointed positions.
Men and women can join the Generale Ameglio and hold any position on the administration, including president. To join, you need a regular member to sponsor you. Annual dues are $150 (prorated after January). You can apply for membership at any time. The administration reviews all membership applications for approval.
The Generale Ameglio has two membership types:
Membership applicants under age 18 or who are full-time students are exempt from paying dues
Nonmembers can visit the clubroom with a member without restriction for 60 days.
The Joseph Bianca Ballroom was renovated in 2024. You can rent the ballroom for events, such as showers, weddings, baptisms, family reunions, graduation parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, business meetings, expos, award ceremonies and presentations.
The ballroom in downtown New Britain is close to Route 9 and Interstate 84 and is 15 minutes from Hartford and 30 minutes from Bradley International Airport.

Vincenzo DiPietro of Sortino, Sicily, founded the Generale Ameglio Civic Association in 1913 to create a home away from home for Italians who immigrated to Connecticut. The association is named after Italian General Giovanni Ameglio. He was a Sicilian veteran who distinguished himself in the Libyan War in Cyrenaica, Libya, and in the Dodecanese Greek Islands from 1911 to 1912. General Ameglio also served as governor of Tripolitania, as a senator of the Kingdom of Italy in 1917, and as commander of the Italian Royal Guard.
